Please DO NOT attend if you or anyone in your household is displaying covid symptoms or your household is currently in isolation.
Car Parking/Arrival
No parking at the ground apart from disabled drop off and pick up.
Palace Shield officials, umpires, players and spectators from Longridge CC, Preston CC, Euxton CC and Fulwood and Broughton CC are requested to park in the Scouts’ car park and the adjacent field, (just passed the entrance to the ground when travelling along Hall Lane from Great Eccleston Village)
The Car Park at St Mary’s Catholic Church off Hall Lane (towards the centre of the village, about 100 yards from the ground entrance) will be available as for overflow parking, if necessary.
Great Eccleston CC members, volunteers and spectators are requested to park in the public parking bays on the Thorne Meadow Estate (accessed from Copp Lane and Dovecote Drive).
Spectators
Spectators are requested to maintain sensible social distancing whenever possible and to keep away from areas designated for players and officials.
Clubhouse and Bar
The Bar in the Clubhouse will be open, but access will be limited to a maximum of 30 at any one time, there will be no inside seating and drinks should be consumed outside.
Spectators will be able to use the toilets in the Clubhouse and will be cleaned and sanitised regularly.
Although no longer mandatory, visitors entering the Clubhouse are asked to wear a mask, to use the designated entrances and exits and to follow the separate queuing directions for the bar and toilets.
Visitors will be able to purchase burgers and hot dogs from the BBQ, adjacent to the Clubhouse (a queuing system will be signposted)
Changing Rooms and designated players seating areas
Players will be able to use the changing rooms immediately before and after each innings and when preparing to bat, but all participants are requested to arrive changed and ready to play if possible and should minimise the time spent inside. Windows and doors should be kept open whenever possible to allow ventilation. The changing rooms will be cleaned and surface areas will be sanitised between matches.
Showers can be used, but with a maximum of 2 players at any one time.
A gazebo to the right of the changing rooms will be allocated for each of the teams in the second semi-final, for players to assemble and put their bags whilst waiting for the changing rooms to be vacated and cleaned after the first semi-final.
The winners of the first semi-final will have to remove all their kit and belongings from the changing room after the game. They will be able to use one of the gazebos whilst the second semi-final is taking place.
The losers of the first semi-final are requested to remove their kit from the changing rooms and return it to their cars as soon after the game as possible.
Nets/pre-match preparations
The nets will not be available for practice at any time during the day.
Teams should warm up on separate sides of the ground.
During the match
All players are required to comply with the Palace Shield Playing Conditions and current ECB Covid Guidance.
Rain interruptions
In the event of rain, players should not mix with players from other teams and should shelter, on the changing room balcony, in one of the gazebos or in their own cars.
Covers will be put on and taken off by GECC volunteers.
Scorers
A table and chairs will be set up for scorers in a gazebo just to the left of the scoreboard.
Umpires
Umpires will be able to use the umpires changing room if they wish, but they are requested only to enter one at a time.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing covid safety measures restricting space in the Clubhouse and the kitchen, on this occasion normal cricket teas cannot be provided to players, umpires, scorers or League officials. Instead, complementary tickets for the BBQ will be issued. (Separate arrangements can be made for the provision of halal food if requested in advance).
