Croston were successful in winning the Meyler Cup yesterday

Danny Howard won the toss for Thornton Cleveleys and elected to bat

Very tight bowling from all of Croston's bowlers restricted Thornton to 80 all out

Sam Marsh bowled 6.2 overs taking 4 for 14 Jake Parsons took 2for 2 in his 2 overs

Whilst Millie Hodge returned figures of 3 for 17 of her 7 overs

Millie we believe is the first woman to play in a Meyer Cup Final

But the Man of the Match award voted on by the Umpires Steven Brown & David Forrest.

Went to Keith Marsh who bowled 8 overs 5 maidens 0 wickets but only conceded 3 runs. A remarkable spell.

Rain fell at tea and the players had to come off & on several times which did not help either side.

With overs lost, we came down to a minimum 20 over game. The revised a DLS total of 41

Croston did lose 2 wickets but Captain Adam Sexton and Ian Dickenson saw Croston home with a score of 43 for 2 from 17 overs

The tremendous support from Thornton Cleveleys CC and great hospitality from Croston Sports & Social Club made it an excellent occasion
